Grandpa brought Nana 3 special chocolate bars. They were SOOOOO big and she melts them down and rolls strawberries in them.
These are special chocolate. I would LOVE to eat it...
But Nana says NO! NOT FOR DOGS! Eating chocolate can kill a dog. It can cause a seizure and it is painfull
I promised not to eat chocolate.
But now look at this!
According to the Wall Street Journel, dogs are likely to do amazing feats to get at this things. Dogs have been known to get up on the counter (GASP!!!) and get into the bottles and eat pills (NOT ME). The WSJ said it was a huge problem and they asked me to tell you to please look up your meds so your dogs don't get into mischief and get sick.
So I am telling you! Stay down off the counters but you humans better remember that we have super-hero powers so please keep it high. Keep the lid on tight, please don't play games with this stuff.
We could die.
This is the story of Bailey, a Golden Retriever who lives in Arizona and works as the Canine in a Professional Partnership in doing therapy for humans. He has a Good Citizen medal and a BIG heart and a WISE brain. Bailey wears the turquoise neckerchief of a canine assisted therapy dog with a royal blue patch. The patch reminds humans that he is a highly trained and a valuable member of a therapeutic team.

Nana went to a conference about play. Do you think she came home and played with me? No she did not.
Did she play with Todd? No she did not.
She made chocolate strawberries.
Did she share with me or Todd? No she did not.
She told Grandpa she was Funka Munka at the Conference. And this is what she did:
And she brought this dragon home. She put an elastic band around its mouth so it would not bite us. Can you see where it ate the frog????
Nana is in need of a time out.

Please Spread the Word!
The Morris Animal Foundation is sponsering the Golden LifeTime Study. They are looking for 3000 plus Golden Retrievers under the age of 2 to study.
The study has already come up with new ways to treat cancer.
Please go to www.caninelifetimehealth.org to read all about it!
See me? This is me looking off into the future when dogs and people no longer get cancer. I can see it now...

Hi Miss Jan!
I wanted to say hi and to tell you Nana said we should all take more naps. Naps are very important to your physical and mental and emotional well-being. Nana said that we should all be sleeping 9 and a half hours every night. So with that important piece of information...guess where I am?
Nana said that it does not count when you doze in front of the tv. So she turned it off...no more ducks or sheep. She also does not want me to play games on her computer. Bad for my eyes.
Nana said that not getting enough sleep is an epi-demic. She says that going without makes us cranky, miserable, snappy and snippy, and unkind. She also said that lack of sleep causes car accidents. This does not really apply to me because I can't reach the keys nor do I have opposible thumbs. Nana says a lot.
Grandpa says she says 44,000 words a day and he does not have enough time to sleep and listen. So he chooses to sleep. Nana already knew this.
I practice sleeping with my eyes open so Nana thinks I am listening. Anyway. Get some sleep. love, Bailey

Nana only LOOKS like she is smiling. She is not. She is gasping for air because I am sitting on her. Ha ha Nana. Nana Flat...she looks like that_________________________
I am not getting down. The phone is ringing and she can't get it. She can't reach her Dr. P. and she can't reach her book. She can't push me off either because I have my claws dug into the rug.
I guess, Nana, you should have thought a little bit longer about throwing Chicken off the stairs 20 times.
And just in case you are worried, I am quite comfortable. Yes, thank you. I am.
I just want to point out that once again, Nana was late with our treats. Just so you know. Just so you know so that you can tell Nana so she will know that I am keeping score.
:)
Nana has come up with her own little Hamster wheel for me. It is called upstairs/downstairs with The Chicken. Since Nana is too old to walk, she takes Chicken away and runs upstairs with him. Then as soon as I go up to rescue poor Chicken, Nana throws him overboard. So I have to go down the stairs to get Chicken.
I go back upstairs so Nana can see that Chicken is ok but Nana is not nice, she snatches Chicken and throws him down the stairs again. I have to go get him. This is what it looks like:
Aside from the fact that I look GREAT going North, from the South End of things, this is poor me with poor poor chicken down the stairs.
This is me and chicken back up the stairs. Once I get there, Nana will snatch Chicken and throw him back down the stairs.
If you look carefully, you can see Todd. Todd don't do Hamster Stairs. Todd don't do nothin'.
I will get her someday. Chicken is seasick. Stop it NANA!

8 o'clock is a very special time for me and Todd. That is when we get our special treat. Nana gets 2 sticks, one for me and one for Todd and she breaks them off little by little and give it to Todd first - because he is so needy - and then gives it to me. Sometimes Todd does not want it so I eat it for him.
So this is what happened last night..
You SEE what time it is??? This is NOT 8 o'clock!!!
This is also not 8 o'clock. This is 8:11 PM
This is not 8 o'clock. This is 8:16 PM.
Todd and I have a plan. When Nana puts the book down and gets up to get herself a treat, we are going to eat the book.
Rats! Foiled again. She put the book up high and got us treats. NOW we have to forgive her and be all nice and NO TEETH. That is Rule Number 1. NO TEETH.
We wait. We are patient. We are good dogs. Nana said so but I am still going to tell Grandpa.

Every now and then Nana watches TV. Except for Thursday night, and Gibbs, Nana lets Grandpa pick out the shows. So last night we had a quiet night at home, watching TV.
I like to watch TV but only when it is not people hitting other people. I do not like violence on TV. Nana says it is not good for me. Or for Todd. It upsets me. The Boy and The Girl do not watch violence on TV because thier mom knows it is bad for them.
We watched a show about Wild China. Nana has china that she keeps in a cupboard. This show was not about THAT China. It was a show about birds (I LOVE birds) and pandas (I love pandas). I didn't see any sheep but they showed a coramon eating a frog! And how the fisherfolk tied strings around the birds so they would get the fish but couldn't swallow it. I don't think I would eat a fish that some bird threw up.
I wouldn't eat a frog either.
BUT if your dog eats a frog, pull it out and put the hose in his mouth and wash it out. Then get him to the vet quick quick quick.
And yes, Miss J, that is me on my end of the couch. HAHAHAhhhhaaaa
